Free Business Training for Ethnic Communities

Be your Own Boss

Details:

Funded Business education to bring communities together for better understanding and also encourage a lot more of communication between different ethnic communities and to build a strong base to help their needs for the better and would like to reduce ethnic inequality.

Orb360 Foundation Trust is a registered NZ charity. This is a cost-free service for our ethnic community participants. We propose to deliver business courses for all the ethnic communities to welcome them to the community and get socially connected well with everyone, develop their capability, skills, and ability and encourage their participation in self-employment, employment in the New Zealand Society.

There are ten courses split between twelve months covering different parts of the business aspect to help the ethnic communities go forward with their business.
There are quite a few articles on how ethnic people are struggling especially in the retail sector due to lack of communication and help or guidance given to the communities and also there are few who do not receive any kind of help or support as well. We would like to bring communities together for better understanding and also encourage a lot more of communication between different ethnic communities and to build a strong base to help their needs for the better and would like to reduce ethnic inequality.

The courses will run for four hours, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided as part of the service which is key to providing a comfortable cultural space that is key to many cultures in socialization and engagement. Practical real-world group case studies will be used as a learning tool which is a proven method for ensuring that the audience can gain knowledge of the business environment they will be working within.
The groups will consist of 15 to a maximum of 20 participants. Keeping a cap on 20 participants is to ensure that there is a close relationship with each participant key to the success of the program and again a proven value proposition for the audience i.e. being considered as an individual is an important and holistic approach in welcoming ethnic diversity in an authentic way.
The courses will have ten sessions in total carried out every last Thursday of the month, courses will include:

  • Understanding Business Cash Flow
  • Business Broking
  • Business Planning
  • Accounting
  • Finance – Applying for a loan
  • Legal – Understanding the commercial legal requirement
