How Upcycling Transforms Business
Virtually all 20th century materials production methods derive from an incomplete model. Goods transition from primary materials to production, to finished goods to consumer and progress to discarded waste. The vast majority of todays mass-production behemoths were created on this ‘grass is always greener’ mentality that fed consumerism through the last 2 decades. But today, in post COVID New Zealand something has changed. Consumers have become hyper-interested in the footprint they leave on humanity and they are changing their buying behaviour to refocus consideration on how the businesses they buy from plan for the full lifecycle of a product.
From buy-backs for credit to reallocation to transformable materials, businesses are exploring new ways to connect and serve their customer communities while opening new revenue streams by taking the post-consumer phase of their product lifecycle into account.
On November 12th, Geraldine Tew, Founder of The Re-Creators will share current strategies for businesses on the Circular Economy. Her talk will explore drivers for the move a sustainable approach to product and service delivery, the impacts on businesses who a doing this successfully, and some very practical tips for how businesses in tonight’s audience can incorporate circular principles into their own businesses.
Whether you are a goods-based, or a service-based business, there will be some powerful learning. Join us on on 12-Nov from 6:30pm at AppleJacks.

Regularly we have short talks from members sharing a particular area of expertise, and how they have grown a successful business around it. If you’d like to build clients and referrals or spread the word about your venture contact our organisers for more info.
